Alana McCarthy is available for fine art commissions, creating a personalized painting based on your specifications. Depending on the size and subject matter please allow at least three weeks from sketch to completed painting.
Some things to think about..
Size - Large, small? Designed to fit in a certain spot in your home?
Orientation - Horizontal or vertical?
Surface and finish - Paper must be framed. Stretched canvas can hang by itself.
Subject matter - What do you want painted? Are there certain objects that have meaning to you or to the subject? Is there a certain concept you want to come across in the painting?
Colors - Are there particular colors you are attracted to? Is there certain room decor you want to match or compliment?
Budget - How much are you willing to spend? This could affect size and detail.
Process:
Commission is discussed - Subject matter, size, surface and other variables are figured out.
Detailed contract is worked out and a deposit is requested (Usually 30% at the start, 30% after sketches are approved and 30% upon delivery of finished painting.)
Sketches begin - Rough thumbnails to map out the composition, delivered through email.
Linear stage - Detailed drawing begins after sketches are approved.
Final painting stage - The approved linear is used to create the final painting in acrylic.
Delivery - Either arranged pickup or mailed securely.
